IELTS General Training
Preparation for everyday English, workplace scenarios, and the General Training Writing tasks.
General Training is often required for migration routes, secondary training, or work experience where Academic IELTS is not specified. The Listening and Speaking papers are the same length and style as Academic, while Reading and Writing use different material: shorter workplace- and community-style texts, a letter (Task 1), and an essay (Task 2).
Preparation focuses on functional language: writing clear letters (requests, complaints, explanations), handling Section 1 social contexts in Listening, and building the vocabulary range examiners expect in Speaking without sounding memorised. We use authentic task types and discuss how your answers will be read against the descriptors.
If you are unsure whether you need Academic or General Training, we can help you confirm this against your visa category, employer, or institution requirements before you book a test date.
